contemporary lobby walls

The use of a crackle glaze to these walls created a fairly unique effect over large areas of an entrance lobby. The crackle paint effect is created using two contrasting or harmonizing colour layers, the final or top layer cracks to reveal the colour of the layer beneath. The crackle glaze paint effect was a technique used quite widely on furniture in the late Fifties and early Sixties. On the walls in this photo I used the Polyvine system which for me has produced consistently good results.
