A brush is dragged through the wet paint medium leaving stries and allowing the base paint colour to show through. Has its origins apparently in the use of the brush in the same way to produce side grain effects in wood graining. Dragging is a useful paint finish for more formal areas of the home and can provide subtle enhancement to architecture as well as being an ideal backdrop for picture hangs.
