dragging paint effects

red paint effect created by dragging brush through paint

A brush is dragged through the wet paint medium leaving stries and allowing the base paint colour to show through. Has its origins in the use of the brush to produce side grain effects in wood graining. The dragging paint effect is a useful paint finish for more formal areas of the home and can provide subtle enhancement to architecture as well as being an ideal backdrop for pictures.
