faux woodgraining
wood graining paint effect: satinwood
Satinwood is a classic cabinetry wood used chiefly but not exclusively in furniture as veneer and inlay. Mainly used in late 18th Century English work marking the transition from the solidity of the Baroque to the lightness of Adam and Hepplewhite. Often the wood was used as a background for painted decorative elements and pen work, this wood was also used in the Art Deco period. Faux wood graining paint effects can be used to simulate any exotic and expensive timber.
