faux stone paint effect Corinthian column
faux stone painted on a fibrous plaster work column
The fibrous plaster Corinthian columns supported a high ceiling beam with a deep cornice. Colours were chosen to coordinate with the natural stone used for fire surrounds and to harmonize with the walls and elements of the soft furnishings. A faux stone paint effect can be naturalistically rendered in tones ranging from cool greys, through browns and yellows to pinks at the warmer end. This commission was carried out in acrylic based media and pigments which in terms of opacity and reflectivity serve the intended result well. Private client work in London U.K.
