This painting sits above an oak radiator case and is part of an extensive mural scheme continuing throughout the rooms and entry hall of a London home. It is broadly based on wall paintings in Pompeii and is designed to brighten and enliven areas not well served with warm natural day light. The objects in the still life were chosen to be redolent of the period and the photo shows fruit and song birds. Hand painted decoration by a muralist provides the opportunity for highly customized and individual decorative schemes.
